1402–1471 · thomist · Carthusian of Roermond; the Doctor ecstaticus, and the last man to write a full commentary on the Sentences
He is on the Thomist bench by school and not by habit, and he is the only witness in this edition who does on a page what this edition does on a page. His question on d.17 takes the doctors one after another by name — Thomas, Bonaventure, Albert, Giles of Rome, Scotus — reports each, and then determines. Reading him is reading a bench two centuries before anyone thought to print one. ⛔ Which makes him this edition's sharpest via-rule hazard: not one of the men he summarises may be cited through him.
